Our Design Process

The inquisitive search for the architectural form which most exactly reflects the specific content of each project is facilitated through a clear process in which quick design studies are employed. This method has again and again proven successful in defining the most appropriate solution for each given project, both for us and for our clients. We take special care not to substantiate the design idea too soon. This often leads to a superficial, formalistic solution which may please us as architects, but simply cannot amply accomodate user needs. These swiftly executed analytical studies can hence be utilised until late in the design process. This opens up the opportunity to make changes later on in the project as more details and considerations become known. The individual stations along this creative path are best explored by using a wide array of design media and visualisation tools. Models have proven to be one of the best media to explore design intentions. A wide variety of model types can be implemented to best explore the demands of each given design phase - in direct and open discourse with our clients and others involved in the planning process (contractors, local building officials, planning officials, etc.). In recent years, 3D-visualistions created with our CAD and graphic design software have proven to be an especially effective alternative to conventional architectural models.
